Inspection Information
Starting April 1st, 2010
Nissan requires any contract purchaser to have an inspection completed prior to the Security+Plus contract taking effect, unless the agreement is purchased on the same day the vehicle is purchased. (We will supply you with the applicable documents and you can have any Nissan dealer complete the form.) Click Here
Why is this important?
If you were to purchase a Security+Plus plan without and did not have the vehicle inspection complete the follow can happen. Let's say you were to have a claim 60 days from the date you purchased your Security+Plus plan; any claim within 90 days automatically gets flagged within Nissan's system and they are able to deny the claim and cancel the policy if all the supporting documentation isn't on file. Our Advice
The vehicle inspection isn't difficult to have completed, in fact it's quite simple. Here's a few things to keep in mind.
- If the during the inspection process, the Nissan Service Department finds things that need to be replaced, make sure they are replaced, under your existing factory warranty.
- Do not wait until your factory warranty is on the verge of expiring. If you were to have a failure during the first 90 days of coverage you may run the risk of having your policy canceled by Nissan.
- Purchase the plan as soon as possible so that the vehicle has plenty of time under it's factory warranty.
- DO NOT purchase a Security+Plus plan without the inspection form.
- If you purchase a Pre-Owned Security+Plus plan online, you are taking a huge risk that Nissan will honor the plan when you make a claim. Part of the claim process can include verifying the inspection was complete and any needed repairs were completed either under the factory warranty or by you the customer. If those two things aren't in order Nissan can cancel your plan and deny the claim.
We supply the required inspection form both via electronic file and also via UPS with your application information. All you need to do is contact a local Nissan dealer and arrange for the Service Department to look at your vehicle. It's not a difficult step and it'll protect you and your vehicle in the long run.
